A Note from the Founder

After long and thoughtful consideration, I have made the decision to step back from the daily operations of Salvage Compost.

Since 2024, Salvage Compost has been an experience that has changed me, taught me new ways to work with my community, and opened my eyes to new ways of supporting the environmental needs of the people I call neighbors.

The mission of Salvage has not ended. The work has simply moved into a new chapter.

Much of the work I began through Salvage continues through my new projects, as well as through my personal advocacy efforts across Philadelphia. I continue to fight for better environmental policies for our communities, expand education around climate change and environmental issues, and advocate for removing food organics from our waste streams.

This has always been my mission, and it will continue regardless of whether Salvage Compost is operational.

Salvage Compost is currently dormant and is not accepting new customers, donations, or materials. The organization remains a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Pennsylvania.

I am deeply grateful to the partners, supporters, volunteers, and community members who showed up for Salvage Compost through every step of its journey. Your support, trust, and willingness to believe in the work meant more than I can properly express.

Salvage was an important chapter in my journey, and I carry what I learned from it into the work ahead.
